Most travel advice focuses on surface-level tips: what to pack, where to go, what to avoid. But travel doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It unfolds in places shaped by history, culture, inequality, and environmental change.

The RISE Traveler Pathway was created to bridge that gap.

This program helps you:

What Is the RISE Traveler Pathway?

The RISE Traveler Pathway is a two-level, self-paced e-learning program designed for travelers who want to go beyond basic “responsible travel” tips and develop a deeper understanding of their impact.

You can expect:

Short, interactive e-learning lessons
Guided reflection exercises
Practical tools you can apply to your travels
A global learning community
A personal travel pledge to support accountability

How the Program Works

🌿 Level 1

Elevating Your Journey: Foundations for Thoughtful Travel

A welcoming, accessible introduction to conscious travel.

You will explore:

Your identity and role as a traveler
Intersectionality, identity, and access in travel
Mobility and passport privilege
Cultural humility and unconscious bias
Respectful engagement with local communities, animals, and nature
Ethical photography and storytelling

This level focuses on how to travel thoughtfully in any context, without judgment or pressure.

🌍 Level 2

Understanding Your Impact: Power, Systems, & Justice

A deeper dive into the systems shaping travel and tourism.

You will explore:

Regenerative travel: what it is and what it's not
Power dynamics in the unequal global tourism system
Housing, labor, economic systems, and community impact
Climate change and climate justice in travel
Decolonial approaches to travel

This level is more critical, reflective, and transformative—designed for those ready to engage more deeply.
